Verre Églomisé or reverse gilding and painting on glass, Bamboo Forest Panels
These bamboo forest panels for an entryway were executed using the technique of Verre Églomisé, the process of gilding precious metals on the reverse side of glass, etching in a design and setting it off with color. The materials used in this piece were 22-K gold leaf backed with acrylics.
Gilding and Decorating Glassware,
Gilded Martini Glasses
The artist applies either prints of his own paintings, or the originals, to the outer surface of the glass with the technique of découpage. The inner surface is then mordant gilded with 23-K gold leaf. The gilding is then sealed for practical use.
